Just this past week…

Friday, August 30, 2019 – Mobile, Alabama: Ten teenagers were shot leaving a high school football game. Luckily, no one was killed.

Saturday, August 31, 2019 – Midland / Odessa, Texas: Seven people were killed and over 22 wounded while working, driving and enjoying the day.

Monday, September 2, 2019 Elkmont, Alabama: A 14-year old boy shot and killed five members of his family in his home, late at night. No motive has been given.

Three mass shootings within four days. In all of these cases, the presence of more armed people would not have made the situation better. In all of these cases, the easy access to firearms extended and amplified the tragedy of the situation.

If you are unaware, you are ignorant.

If you are aware and refuse to act, you are negligent.

If you are aware and act to facilitate, you are complicit.

The near daily, wholesale slaughter of innocents by our fellow citizens with high capacity, high powered weapons is a uniquely American problem. As it relates to gun violence, ignorance is no longer an excuse. The unvarnished truth is that the majority of our Republican elected officials are either negligent or complicit.

How can any voter find this acceptable?
