The blanket elimination of college loan debt is the Democrat’s version of vouchers. Just as vouchers promise one thing (providing options for poor and minority students) while doing another (actually providing tax breaks and subsidies for the rich), the same is true for college loan forgiveness.

Wait a minute… What???

Over half of the college loan debt carried in the U.S. was used for either private school tuition or graduate school. Which means that:

1. This debt is owed by upper middle class and affluent families (see private school and graduate school attendees demographics).

2. There were less expensive education options that were bypassed (see community colleges and public universities).

If someone bought a new Cadillac Escalade instead of a used Honda Civic, or god forbid, taking a bus, and then expected you to pay for it, you would laugh and walk away. You wouldn’t open your wallet and say, “Poor thing, I’ll make it all better.”

Be just as skeptical about college loan forgiveness.
