Everyone wants to be a leader when things are going well. It’s fun and there are lots of perks. But enjoying positional perks while the organization is on calm seas is not leadership.

Leadership occurs when things aren’t going well. Leadership occurs during uncertainty and adversity.

Leadership requires you to do hard things. Because you must and you can.

Leadership requires you to sacrifice the “I” for the “we.” Leadership requires you to make the “we” more inclusive and less exclusive.

This is what separates a true Leader from the all too common pretender.

I have little patience for the pretender.

Think. Work. Achieve.
