Recently, I was talking to a teacher that is applying for an Assistant Principal position. Her question, “Are there any “great” schools in XYZ School District.”

I said there were a couple of good schools but only one great school remaining in the district (which I named).

Her response, “I’m not applying to that school. No one ever leaves before 6:30pm, every day.”

It’s a good thing she isn’t applying, because with that mindset, there is no way that she would get hired at that school.

Great isn’t an 8:00 to 4:00 job, it’s an all consuming passion.
