Due to overwhelmingly positive word of mouth advertising, we have been swamped with questions about the three new training sessions that we have been sharing with instructional staff and administrators across the country. All three are delivered virtually.
The second new LYS training is primarily for district and campus leadership teams. It is The Reboot: School Operations in an Uncertain World. The training is based on the now best-selling book by the same name. It is a 180 to 240 minute training addressing everything that should be considered when reopening a school.
Dr. Mike Laird and I wrote the book while working with school leadership teams from across the country developing their reopening plans. What we found was that each leadership team had solutions for the urgent problems in front of them, but developing those solutions took up so much time and attention that other pressing problems were inadvertently missed. The book and the training fills in the procedure gaps, wherever they may occur. The consensus response from the administrators that we have worked with is that this is the most valuable training they have had since the onset of school closures.
We designed the training to make sure that leadership teams don’t overlook the critical practices and processes that will Keep the Adults Alive; Keep the Students Healthy; and Keep the School Open.
